The companies of the Gomel oblast should prompt up the certification of their products in compliance with the EU standards, chairman of the oblast executive committee Alexander Yakobson ordered during an operational session on June 16.      

According to Director General of the Gomelmyasomolprom Company Nikolai Teplyakov, the European partners have already offered assistance in advancing Belarusian dairy products to the non-CIS countries. “Besides, we also hope for the assistance of the Ministry for Agriculture and Food which has already gained experience in certifying products in line with the EU standards,” Nikolai Teplyakov said. 

Moreover, the chairman of the oblast executive committee has asked to invite the heads of the Ukrainian dairies that are eager to work with the Belarusian raw material. Several days ago Alexander Yakobson, while visiting with an official governmental delegation, had an opportunity to speak with Ukrainian milk processing companies. “ shows interest in setting up joint ventures,” praises the quality of the Belarusian milk. The meeting to elaborate the major principles of the joint activity will take place next week.
