Delegations from 12 countries will come to Vitebsk to take part in the international investment forum scheduled for 15 July, it was learnt from the economy committee of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee. 

Businessmen and representatives of the diplomatic missions from Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and other countries will participate in the presentation of the investment potential of the oblast and local manufacturers. The projects to be presented are estimated at over $700 million. 

The business forum is aimed to attract investment in the priority branches of the Vitebsk oblast, to tell domestic and foreign businessmen about opportunities of setting up new productions in the oblast. The investment projects cut across a wide range of industries, including machine building, automobile construction, road service, hotel construction and creation of logistics centres. The priority projects include the production of construction materials from local raw materials, infrastructure development of the Vitebsk airport, construction of recreation and tourism facilities. 

It will be the second business forum held in 2009. The first one was held in March and gathered participants from 20 countries. About 40 cooperation agreements were signed during the forum.
