In H1 2009 foreign currency earnings of Belarusian enterprises sank 41.9% down to $10.83 billion over the same period in 2008, it was learnt from the National Bank of Belarus. 

The commodity export proceeds dropped 46% down to $9 billion and accounted for 83.1% of the foreign currency earnings. The export of services accounted for almost 15% of foreign currency gains or $1.65 billion (up 1.7%), the domestic foreign currency trade – 0.9% or about $101.9 million (down 54.6%). The miscellaneous revenues made up $10.8 million (down 26.8%). 

According to the preliminary data of the National Bank, supplies to the CIS states accounted for about 37% of all the foreign currency earnings, of which 31.4% was the export to Russia .
