Belarus’ companies need to open more representative offices in Kazakhstan

Belarusian companies should be more active in opening their representative offices in Kazakhstan, Director of The Yesil Agro Company of the Schuchinsk region, Akmola oblast, Asylbek Ismagametov told reporters on 29 August.

Asylbek Ismagametov believes that in the present-day tough market competition Belarusian companies need to take a more aggressive policy in advancing national goods.

The Belarusian agricultural equipment is in high demand in Kazakhstan which agriculture is rapidly developing. It is more advantageous for Kazakh companies to acquire products made on their territory. Therefore Kazakh partners are interested in setting up joint ventures to produce Belarusian combine harvesters and other agricultural equipment.

According to Asylbek Ismagametov, the best equipment including that from Canada and Germany is purchased for the Kazakh agrarian sector. Products of the Belarusian engineering industry are also highly competitive.

The agrarian sector of Kazakhstan receives a great amount of state support in the form of subsidies and loans for producers and processors of the agricultural products. The Akmola oblast and, Schuchinsk region in particular, is one of the major suppliers of flour and flour products to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

The Yesil Agro Company is one of the leading grain producers. The sowing area reaches 50,000 hectares. The company exports flour to Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and other countries. The company has its own dairy and is current constructing a cattle-breeding facility.
