Belarus plans to export heat pumps to UAE

The Lykov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is planning to start exporting absorption heat pumps to the United Arab Emirates, it was learned from Leonard Vasiliev, the chief of porous medium laboratory of the institute.

“The institute has already started the negotiations with foreign partners. We hope to come to an agreement, and our institute will be able to advance to the UAE market,” said Leonard Vasiliev. The foreign experts are interested in partnership with Belarusian scientists; the sides are currently negotiating the terms of cooperation.

Belarusian absorption heat pumps are of high energy efficiency, environmentally friendly and economical. The pumps help save 20-30% of primary fuel such as gas, oil-fuel, wood, peat, etc.

“The wide application of the pumps in Belarusian industry will allow saving millions of dollars every year. Most of Belarusian plants are equipped with expensive foreign heat pumps. Some of them cost about $1 million, while similar Belarusian pumps are 30% cheaper,” said Leonard Vasiliev

Founded in 1952, the Lykov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute specializes in heat and mass transfer in capillary and porous solids, dispersed systems, non-equilibrium and rheologic environment, non-uniform turbulent flows, low-temperature plasma and under material-radiation interaction.
