Leviev Group set to invest in Belarus’ civil engineering, tourism, pharmaceuticals
Israeli Leviev Group of Companies intends to invest in the Belarusian civil engineering, tourism, and pharmaceutical industry, the press service of the President of Belarus told BelTA after Alexander Lukashenko met with the head of Leviev Group of Companies.

Lev Leviev, head of Leviev Group of Companies, spoke in positive terms about the prospects of making investments into the development of the Belarusian civil engineering industry, the relocation of industrial enterprises from Minsk and the development of unoccupied areas. Besides, there are plans for implementing projects in the pharmaceutical industry, tourism and recreation.

After the meeting Alexander Lukashenko instructed the government and the National Bank to put together a plan of cooperation with Leviev Group of Companies by the end of the year and to begin implementing specific agreements starting January 1, 2008. The President believes, the sides should cooperate for a year within the framework of a pilot project and then should use the accumulated experience to decide on further cooperation.

Apart from that, the sides discussed long-term cooperation prospects. In particular, Leviev Group of Companies may invest in building hospitals and then in maintaining these facilities for some time.
