Venezuela President Hugo Chavez is visiting Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), it was has learnt.

Hugo Chavez has seen both civilian and military products that MAZ offers.

MAZ Director General Nikolai Kosten remarked, the President of Venezuela had been showed the vehicles that Venezuela already uses and the vehicles that it can get in the future.

Nikolai Kosten added there are plans to sign a contract with Venezuela soon on supplying three-axle dump trucks and high-sided trucks.

Hugo Chavez is expected to see MAZ’s assembly workshop later on.

Minsk Automobile Plant plans to open an enterprise in Venezuela by the end of the year. The new facility will be able to manufacture 500 vehicles per annum. The capacity will be increased in the future.

Minsk Automobile Plant is a major CIS manufacturer of automobile, trailed and passenger vehicles. The company offers an extensive lineup of around 500 models and their modifications, including truck tractors, high-sided trucks, medium-capacity low-frame automobiles, dump trucks, log trucks, short log trucks, cross-country vehicles, automobiles fit for special equipment as well as 12 bus models and over 30 derivative modifications. MAZ vehicles are compliant with Euro-3 and Euro-4 requirements. The company exports its vehicles to over 50 countries across the globe.
