Vitebsk to host autumn investment forum 15 October

Russian aviators are planning to attend the autumn investment forum in Vitebsk that is due on 15 October, it was learned from the economy committee of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee.

They are interested in the proposals of the Orsha aircraft repair plant and the airport Vitebsk to set up logistics centers, develop new production technologies. The Russian delegation will also consist of the heads of the Detskoselsky Concern, the company which has already launched several investment projects in the agrarian sector of the region. The delegation will include representatives of the oil refineries, officials responsible for the consumer market issues.

A delegation of the Lodz Province, Poland, will be comprised of the founders of the four large companies. The Embassies of Hungary and Slovakia are intended to take part in the forum as well. A delegation of the Latgale administration, Latvia, will discuss joint participation of the local governmental bodies in the EU new programme “Lithuania-Latvia-Belarus”.

The forum will offer nearly 100 investment projects. The majority of them will be related to the construction of facilities to process domestic raw material – wood, dolomite, loam and peat. The region has developed several business proposals on road service and tourist infrastructure.

The Vitebsk Flax exhibition/fair will highlight the business meeting. The exposition will display collections of plain-woven fabrics, demonstrate up-to-date flax production and processing technologies.

Businessmen will be able to get familiar with the companies of the region. The investment forum will end on 16 October.

The region has held two investment forums this year, in March and July. The most important projects were demonstrated then and over $350 million worth of contracts were signed.
