Products made by the Grodno-based textile manufacturer Grodnotextile will be shipped to Saint Petersburg, Grodnotextile Director Grigory Sviridov told.

The company plans to ship new products such as blankets and plaids with varying wool content.

The company established contacts with trade companies of the North Western region of Russia thanks to taking part in an exhibition Fashion Industry. At the exhibition Grodnotextile presented its household textiles. It is remarkable that an owner of a major retail chain, which used to work with a Grodnotextile competing manufacturer of average-priced household textiles, has shown an interest in Grodnotextile products.

According to the Director, a company, which specializes in textile made of camel hair and cashmere, would like to represent Grodnotextile Chame A (75% camel hair) blankets in their lineup.

Grodnotextile has also held negotiations with the representative office of the Mogilev-based Mogotex company. The trade company will now represent the entire product range made by Grodnotextile.

At present Grodnotextile and the Saint Petersburg partners are working on the paperwork for shipping the first pilot batches of merchandise.

Founded in 1947, Grodnotextile now specializes in blankets and plaids for various price segments. The company also offers fabrics for footwear industry (including rubber footwear), wool fabrics, and cotton batting for furniture industry. Every month the company processes up to 30 tonnes of wool. In September Grodnotextile increased output by 20%, in January-September — 2.2%. Last month the finished goods inventory shrank by Br200 million to reach 139.9% while the regulated standard is 150%. The company employs around 350 people.
