The Belarusian MAZ buses will start to be assembled in Hungary in the near future, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Belarus Ferenc Kontra told reporters in Minsk on 20 October.

“This is only the beginning. I believe that this cooperation will be developing,” the Ambassador underscored.

He also noted that the Belarusian tractors are in popular demand in Hungary. At present, approximately 50,000 Belarusian tractors operate in Hungary.

In 2008, the Hungarian-Belarusian bilateral trade made up more the $300 million. In 2009, the trade between the two countries shrank by 43% because of the global financial and economic crisis. In January-September this year, the bilateral trade reached $128.9 million.

Belarus mainly imports canned goods, seeds, compound animal feedstuff and medicines from Hungary.
