The State Customs Committee of Belarus completes work on the amendments to the Customs Code, head of the legal department of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Alexander Adereiko told a press conference on 5 November.

“Over the last years we had been actively working on improving customs legislation and streamlining customs procedures. On 1 July 2007 the new Customs Code of Belarus came into force. In subsequent years we have been busy amending and improving our legislation in line with this Code. It allowed us to significantly abridge the subordinate legislation. Before the new Customs Code was introduced, there had been 2,000 such subordinate laws, at present their number is much smaller,” he said.

According to Alexander Adereiko, the work on introducing amendments and addenda to the Customs Code of the Republic of Belarus started in 2009. At present the bill on introducing amendments is being harmonized in ministries and other governmental bodies.
