Minsk to host Bank IT 2009 Forum 18-19 November

Companies from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Italy and India will take part in the 6th international forum of banking and information technologies “Bank IT 2009” which will be held in Minsk on 18-19 November, Vladimir Sirotko, director general of the SoftClub Company told a press conference in Minsk on 11 November.

Around 700 professionals are expected to take part in the work of the forum. The program of the forum includes plenary and breakout sessions, various discussions and roundtables which will discuss the main problems of informatization of the financial and credit area. Participants of the forum will consider the basic goals and the role of information technologies for the Belarusian banking system. They will identify the concept, tendencies and the strategy of their development amid the exterior financial crises.

Taking part in the forum will be heads of banking and financial organizations, specialists in development and use of banking IT, representatives of the companies – developers of IT and software for the financial and credit area.

According to Oleg Veremeichik, head of the main IT department of the National Bank of Belarus, the forum will set up a ground for the cooperation of banking experts, representatives of IT companies and commercial banks. “IT developers will have an opportunity to propose their ideas, products and services to financial organizations. The participants of the forum will be able to establish new business contacts,” Oleg Veremeichik noted.

The Minsk Bank IT 2009 Forum will be organized by the National Bank of Belarus, the Infopark Sci-Tech Association and the Association of Belarusian Banks.
