The first session of the joint Belarusian-Israeli committee on trade and economic cooperation will take place in Jerusalem on 8 December, it was learnt from the Israeli Embassy in Belarus.

The chairmen of the commission will be Minister of Tourism of Israel Stas Misezhnikov and Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Semyon Shapiro.

The sides are set to discuss trade and economic relations and prospects of cooperation in investments, finances, small and medium businesses, transport, standardization, metrology, agriculture, tourism, science and techniques, telecommunications, environment protection, health care, education and culture.

The session is timed to the visit of a delegation of Belarusian businessmen to Israel. The delegation consists of twenty-six people such as representatives of the Minsk office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and top managers of state and private companies. The Belarusian businessmen will travel to Israel on 6-11 December and take part in the Belarusian-Israeli business forum in Tel-Aviv on 7 December.

At the forum Belarusian and Israeli businessmen will discuss cooperation prospects. Belarusian side will present information on possible trade and economic ties and steps that are taken in Belarus to improve the investment climate and business environment simplification.

Apart from Belarusian and Israeli businessmen, taking part in the forum will be members of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), representatives of government bodies, Israeli Institute of Export and International Cooperation, Israeli Industrial Association, Association of Entrepreneurs of Israel, and the Israel-Russia and CIS Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The business forum is organized by the Federation of the Israeli Chamber of Commerce and the Minsk office of the BCCI under the auspices of the Belarusian Embassy in Israel and the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
