The governments of Belarus and the Orenburg oblast of Russia signed an agreement on trade and economic, sci-tech and cultural cooperation in Minsk on 3 December. Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky signed the document on behalf of Belarus, it was has learned.

In his words, it is very important that a detailed protocol of actions meant to promote cooperation with the Orenburg oblast for 2010-2011 is bundled with the agreement. In addition, a protocol of actions meant to promote cooperation between the governments of Belarus and the Udmurtia Republic of the Russian Federation in 2010-2011 was signed in Minsk on 3 December. A plan for cooperation between Belarus and the Republic of Mordovia in 2010-2011 was adopted.

“The signing of such large-scale documents is a huge success for our trade and economic cooperation”, stressed Sergei Sidorsky. These documents reflect concrete issues which meet the interests of market participants and the issues to be addressed for the sake of further development of cooperation between Belarus and regions of the Volga federal district.

“We want to recover from the crisis inflicted on us as soon as possible. We should do our best to secure economic growth, population employment and to enable the development of business relations between Belarus and the Volga federal district”, said the Prime Minister.
