Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov dismissed speculations that Russian banks are banned from providing loans to farm producers for the purchase of Belarusian agricultural machinery. He made this statement at a press conference on June 11. 

Russian banks are allowed to grant loans to agricultural enterprises to purchase Belarusian machines, he underlined. The Russian Agricultural Bank is the only bank which cannot make such transactions to the full extent, as it has only RUB100 billion out of RUB300 billion stipulated by the programme adopted in Russia. “There are no financial resources, just it. All the other banks operate in the regular mode and do not discriminate between Russian and Belarusian companies,” the Ambassador said. 

The major condition for obtaining this loan is providing guarantees that the loan will be paid back.
